This type of media content has been happening for years. Months ago I heard this word used and the definition was minimal but, recently I heard it used at a U.S.A. House Congressional sub-committee meeting televised on YouTube and now there is a formal definition available:
- Malinformation is based on fact, but used out of context to mislead, harm, or manipulate. An example of malinformation is editing a video to remove important context to harm or mislead.
